Hoosiers Fall 10-0 to End Season

Click here for a recap of the game and final stats. This was definitely a disappointing way to end the season, but it was good to see the Hoosier baseball program take a step forward this year by winning the Big Ten tournament and making a NCAA tournament appearance for the first time since 1996.

I must admit that I am too disappointed to write anything more about the Vandy game, but I'll be back with a season recap in the next few days. Go Hoosiers!

  1. I - and I'm sure many others - share your disappointment. Can't quite seem to verbalize my sentiments toward the Vandy game.

Vandy is a good team. But not that good.

Maybe the loss shows us the gap we still need to travel before we can compete nationally. Ohio State - wins the Big Ten regular season - and they give up 24 and 36 runs? OMG!

We sent 2 top 3 rounders to the hill - and only competed about 6.66 innings worth out of 18.

I wish I had stayed for the MTSU v Louisville game Sat night so I could have seen Muhammad Ali.

I apologize to all Hoosier fans for my lame prognostication of how well the Hoosiers would hit Marks - though I still think Bashore and Arnett are higher draft picks and will both be better professionals.

But just like "Arnold" - when next season rolls around - I'll be back!

  3. I was afraid that we wouldn't hit Marks well because we have struggled with good lefties. I was way more disappointed with the defense in Game 1, Bashore in Game 2 and how we didn't get him out earlier, the lack of timely hitting in Game 2, and the fact it seemed we gave up before the game ended in Game 2.

  4. I don't know why we put in subs when we are losing by 8-10, but don't put in subs when we are winning by 8-12. Seems like giving up to me! I know the coaching staff probably didn't think Bashore would give up as many runs as he did, but we have to be prepared for that and have the bullpen ready so we keep ourselves in the game.

  5. I agree NewWriter! We were to quick to take out are fielders but not quick enough to take out are pitcher.
