Phegley Signs with White Sox

According to the Chicago Tribune, Josh Phegley signed with the Chicago White Sox for "in the $800,000 range". Based on a mywabashvalley, "the deal between Phegley and the White Sox is 858,600 dollars, with an additional 30-thousand for schooling to make his package deal worth a total of 888,600 dollars." Coupled with Arnett's signing bonus, that makes the Big Ten's leading battery (sorry OSU's Alex Wimmers and Dan Burkhart) worth over a combined $2 million! Congrats Josh, and I can speak for all Hoosiers fans in saying we all wish you a very successful career and hope to see you in the Bigs soon.

For those wanting to follow Josh in the minors, he will be playing for the Kannapolis Intimidators in North Carolina. They currently have 2 other catchers listed on their roster (14th rounder and non-drafted free agent).

Also, follow former Hoosier outfielder Kipp Schutz's minor league career with the Bluefield Orioles. He is currently 0-3 with 1 BB.
